I took my first photograph as a youngster with my parent’s hand-me-down Brownie Camera. Taking snapshots during vacations in Yosemite was a great hobby and the pictures left me with visual memories to this day. Eventually, I took photography courses in college mainly focusing on processing film and printing in black and white. As the Yearbook photographer for two years and editor in my junior year my love for photography grew.

With my own darkroom equipment, I continued to pursue my interest in photography, but was discouraged by my professor to pursue it as a career. Work and my family became my focus but documenting events in our lives with photographs remained a constant.

Photography is my passion, especially since I retired. Nature and travel went hand in hand for me so I took courses, attended workshops, joined a camera club, and competed in competitions gaining some mastery of this art form. I continue to learn and try new forms of expression with my images with the goal of creating art.

I have received numerous competition awards and I am currently a judge for the Northern California Council of Camera Clubs. I have had a personal showing of some of my work in local shops where I live.
